Claudia Romeo, mien's creative director has wide-ranging experience in both the hairdressing and fashion industries. With experience in creating looks for editorial stories as well as advertising photo shoots Claudia directs and maintains the standards at mien. Claudia prefers and directs a style that has a modern, loose and understated feel to it.

Mien's colour technicians are followers of a unique 'colour suitability' philosophy. Originally developed by Albert Munsell in the late eighteenth century this fashion/ colour philosophy has been modified for the hairdressing industry. We can all be categorized according to natural hair base, eye and skin tones defining their dominant characteristics as 'deep, light, cool, bright, warm & subtle'. Within each category our colour specialists can offer a substantial range of hair colour choice to suit. We also have our own personalized style scrap book with plenty of different examples of looks within these categories. This book showcases a variety of current looks within a suitable range of tones that you can safely choose from. Hair colour is an important part of fashion and therefore reflects seasonal changes. Although being aware of current trends the mien colour technicians (being advocates the Munsell colour system) will never forget the importance of individual coloring. Slicing, splicing, balayage and clever highlighting techniques are the key to more individuality. Color-wise, mien's technicians, recommend straying from traditional foils; where we can we try to minimize that 'roots are coming through look'. We often place our sections so that color can peek out through shattered layers underneath partings thereby reducing maintenance. While we believe color services need to be quick, we endeavor to create colour that is long lasting and as maintenance free as possible.
